About B2 level Spanish

The B2 CEFR level is the level of real fluency. Here you can maintain long conversations with native speakers without significant effort, understand Spanish movies and series, read press articles and write argumentative texts.

At B2 you deepen your knowledge of the subjunctive (past, conditional), complex conditional sentences, formal and informal registers, idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances of Spanish. This is the level where you start sounding natural.

By the end of B2 you will be able to interact fluently and spontaneously, produce clear and detailed texts on diverse topics, defend your point of view and understand complex texts on both concrete and abstract subjects.

Frequently Asked Questions about B2 Spanish

What is the difference between B1 and B2?
At B1 you can communicate about familiar topics with some fluency. At B2 communication is much more natural and spontaneous: you can debate, argue, understand humor and idiomatic expressions, and produce complex texts. B2 is the level of linguistic autonomy.
Is B2 enough to study at a Spanish university?
Yes, most Spanish universities require B2 as the minimum level for international students. With B2 you can follow classes, take notes, participate in debates and write academic papers.
How can I go from B1 to B2?
The key is immersion: consume content in Spanish (series, podcasts, books), practice conversation with native speakers, write regularly and study advanced grammar nuances like the past subjunctive, mixed conditional sentences and language registers.
