Level B1 - Intermediate

More Complex Conversations

About B1 level Spanish

The B1 CEFR level marks an important leap: you go from being a basic learner to an intermediate speaker. At this level you start expressing opinions, talking about abstract topics, telling detailed stories and understanding more complex texts.

The star of B1 is the subjunctive, one of the most characteristic verbal moods of Spanish. You will also work with conditionals, relative clauses, discourse connectors and specialized vocabulary in topics like work, education, environment and culture.

By completing B1 you will be able to handle most situations that arise during a trip, participate in conversations about familiar topics, write coherent texts and understand the main ideas of radio or TV programs when spoken clearly.
