About A1 level Spanish
The A1 level of the Common European Framework (CEFR) is the starting point for any Spanish learner. At this level you will learn the essential basics: how to introduce yourself, numbers, colors, family, greetings and the most basic language structures.
No prior knowledge is needed. The activities at this level are designed so you can start from scratch and build a solid foundation step by step. Each exercise includes clear explanations and practical examples.
By completing the A1 level you will be able to understand and use everyday expressions, introduce yourself and others, ask simple questions about personal information and hold a basic conversation if the other person speaks slowly.

What do you learn at the A1 level of Spanish?
At the A1 level you learn the fundamentals: the alphabet, numbers, colors, greetings, family vocabulary, the present tense of regular verbs, articles, personal pronouns and basic vocabulary for everyday situations like introducing yourself, ordering at a restaurant or asking for directions.
How long does it take to complete A1?
According to the Instituto Cervantes and the CEFR, you need approximately 80-100 hours of study to complete A1. With consistent practice of 30 minutes daily, you can achieve it in 3-4 months.
Can I start learning Spanish with no prior knowledge?
Yes, the A1 level is designed for exactly that. You need no prior knowledge of Spanish. The activities start from the very basics and gradually increase in difficulty.
